STATEMENT ON SENATE TRANSPORTATION BILL
St. Paul — Minnesota Jobs Coalition President Mark Drake issued the following statement upon the passage of the Senate Transportation package.
“Despite bipartisan opposition, the Senate DFL today voted to raise billions of dollars in new taxes on all Minnesotans. Raising the state’s fuel tax will cost Minnesota families hundreds of dollars each year, making buying groceries and picking children up from school more expensive. Even with a $2 billion surplus, it’s no surprise that Senators Bonoff, Carlson, Clausen, Franzen, Kent, Koenen and Schmit joined Minneapolis Democrats in voting to raise taxes.”
