As governor, Mark Dayton opposed a gas tax hike, stating that it would hurt middle-class Minnesotans. Now Dayton is pressing for a gas tax hike which would result in higher fuel prices for the very middle-class Minnesotans he pledged to protect. Dayton would be wise to remember his own words about a gas tax hike: “I don’t think the people of Minnesota are prepared to support it and that’s the critical consideration.”
